Timelines for custom home projects vary based on complexity and size. For standard custom homes, we estimate 10-15 months from design to completion. Larger or more intricate designs may take 14-21 months. We’ll provide a tailored timeline during your consultation to reflect your specific project needs.

Yes, we understand that inspiration can strike at any moment. While changes during construction are possible, it’s important to note that they may affect both the timeline and budget. Our team will work closely with you to assess the feasibility of any adjustments and ensure they align with your vision and project goals.

At Haven Design|Build, we believe in transparent budgeting from the outset. Custom homes generally cost around $300-400/sqft, but we develop a detailed estimate during the design phase that outlines the costs associated with each aspect of the project  and updates throughout the project to ensure that your home stays within your desired budget and you understand the value of what you are paying for. Custom home build costs vary depending on factors such as size, materials, and the complexity of the design.

In general, we do not offer builder financing. However, we may occasionally provide short-term gap financing of 10-20% of the project if there’s a gap between the total available for financing and the final construction estimate. This offer is project-dependent and must be negotiated separately with Haven’s owners.

Many of our custom homes are designed with sustainability in mind, featuring energy-efficient systems, sustainable materials, and innovative building techniques. Our commitment to green building practices ensures that your home is not only beautiful but also environmentally responsible.

At Haven Design|Build, we can integrate custom features into your existing home through carefully planned renovations or additions. Whether you’re looking to expand your space, update its style, or incorporate new features, our team works closely with you to ensure the changes blend seamlessly with your current home while reflecting your personal style. From initial design to final construction, we guide you through the entire process, making sure your renovation or addition meets your needs and enhances the value of your home.

We use a variety of high-quality materials in our custom homes, with a focus on sustainability and durability. This includes energy-efficient windows, sustainable wood, and other eco-friendly materials that enhance both the functionality and aesthetics of your home. We are also experienced with using advanced sustainable building technologies such as Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPs), Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs), Solar Panels, High Velocity HVAC systems, and so much more.

We use BuilderTrend, a platform that streamlines project management and client communication. Clients receive custom login access to view schedules, documents, progress photos, and more. We provide onboarding and training to ensure you’re comfortable using this technology throughout your custom home project.

Unfortunately, since all of our custom homes are for clients who are currently living in the completed houses, this is often not an option. We do have some past clients who are open to being a reference and they will occasionally offer to show the house but it is not a guarantee. At Haven Design|Build, you will have a comprehensive team of a Project Designer, a Construction Project Manager and a Site Supervisor exclusively dedicated to your project. As such, when changes or issues arise, you will have 3 distinct staff available to help address them. 

Our proactive approach will offer open and transparent communication and  ensure that any unexpected developments are addressed quickly and effectively to keep the project on track.

Your primary point of contact will be your Architectural Designer during the design and permitting stages. Once permits are approved, your project is handed over to your Construction Project Manager, who will lead your project through construction and close-out, ensuring continuity and a smooth transition between stages.

Construction Administration is a service where your Architectural Designer stays involved during construction, even after building permits are approved. They attend bi-weekly meetings and assist with design decisions, ensuring the project stays true to the original vision. This service is included in all of our construction estimates to ensure project success.

Our Design|Build approach ensures seamless communication, a unified team, and a clear process from start to finish.
