The Mangum ADU is a detached accessory dwelling unit, which is an extremely energy-efficient project that features insulated concrete form (ICF) walls and a structurally insulated panel (SIP) roof. The industrial-style design includes a generous floorplan for a large living area with a glass overhead door, a kitchenette, one bedroom, a full bathroom, and a dedicated laundry room with lofted storage above. The home was designed to accommodate a multi-generational household near the heart of downtown Durham.
